Essential Functions: | |
Manages a team of highly trained accountants and financial analysts to ensure proper workflow and a balanced workload sets performance goals and monitors annual performance reviews. Responsible for engaging and being action-oriented to deliver and implement highly complex accounting requirements Complete oversight for the completion of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) including direct involvement, managing, assigning work, identifying process improvements, and communicating with accounting teams at 13 institutionsReviews the monthly financial reports for 13 institutions and system administration to ensure accuracy and timely distributionCollaborates with system administration colleagues to determine the annual financial condition of 13 institutionsInforms, corresponds, and facilitates communication with accounting teams, external auditors, the Comptroller of Public Accounts office, state auditors, and numerous key stakeholders reviews and analyzes the impact of the implementation or restatement of all GASB pronouncements specific to higher education. Demonstrates initiative and decisively acts in a fast-paced accounting environment designs, executes, and monitors the effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial information is reliable, and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are followed. |
Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; 10 years or more of progressively responsible experience in a similarly complex organization, which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience in a related field. |
Working Conditions: | Work is performed in an office environment. Uses personal computer and other standard office equipment. |
Preferred Qualifications: | MBA or CPA. Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion Financial Management, and Advanced Excel. |
